Part One: Let Every Corner of Your Home Reflect You

About the Individual

Radical changes have occurred in our sociocultural life with modernity. Concerned about self-sufficiency, people have sought to develop private spaces and create time for themselves in these private spaces and this search has continued to grow stronger with each period passing by.  Thus, people creating their own private spaces in the city life have created a sort of their own circles of trust and privatized the said place, naming it home.

Areas where we leave the day behind; Our Homes

Our homes are our private places where we escape from the noise of the outside and take shelter in to relax. Although the time that we spend at home varies frequently, it is a fact that we spend more time at home than ever before nowadays. Therefore, our houses have started to become our homes where we feel ourselves warmer and safer. As such, we are now trying to further personalize our homes with our designs.

Let Every Corner of Your Home Reflect You

This period during which the pandemic conditions have become aggravated makes the issue of decoration more valuable. In this period, creating private spaces in our homes will, beyond doubt, give us peace. We can attribute a real meaning of home to our houses where spend almost all of our time, by making efforts to add an esthetic appearance to our living spaces as much as possible, to reflect something from our inner self, and to make use of every corner of our house. These efforts/this interest that we show in decoration will not only add value to our homes, but also motivate us.

Suggestions for Changes that you can make in the Decoration of Your Homes

Add functionality to your homes. You will become closer to the concept of “home” by getting rid of redundant pieces and making room for those that are meaningful.
You can create peaceful corners with objects personalizing your home. For example, you can place photo frames containing the photos of your loved ones on your desk or console.
You can turn a room of your home into a small office to work longer and more efficiently. Thus, working from home may turn into an enjoyable process, rather than a mere job requirement.
During the period that we stay at home, our longing for the time that we spend in nature increases. Therefore, adding items that make you feel natural will create warmth in your homes. The furniture with a natural texture that allows you to feel the wood and the items such as green potted plants placed indoors will further increase your peace in your home.
