Architects And Designers On I Saloni Milano Furniture Fair

With a team of 55 prominent architects and designers, Yıldız Entegre visited the I Saloni Milano Furniture Fair which was held in Italy between 17-21 April and fascinated everyone interested in decoration. Architects and designers who participated in the organization by Yıldız Entegre shared their impressions and remarkable details with Yıldız'da Yaşam.

Combining quality and technological products with simple and minimal details, I Saloni Milano Furniture Fair exhibits innovative products and continues to guide designers and architects. In the furniture fair combinations made with different materials, the harmony and elegance of metal and marble, black and gold were among the highlights of the fair. In addition to the variety of colors in the furniture, we can see that last year's soft and gray colors have been replaced by dark colors; gold, nickel and bronze. Velvet warm fabrics, thin metal legs and armrests, seating groups decorated with different materials were among the highlights of 2018.

As in the last two years, marble was again the leading actor of the I Saloni Milano Furniture Fair and we were all impressed by this powerful material that creates the effect of a painting. I think marble surface works will be used a lot in our country this year. Considering the difficulties of using natural stone, we expect Yıldız Entegre's register embossing surfaces to receive high demand as they are close to natural. What we see as the main color is mostly orange and its shades, which we call cooked quince color. This color attracted us all thanks to its warming properties. Designs focusing on simplicity in seating groups and functionality in forms were mainly exhibited with linen fabrics. Glass and mirror sparkle were again used in abundance for their design power. Their ability to combine glass with metal and wood was extraordinary. In summary, we can say that there were really successful presentations at this year's furniture fair.

Trends, colors, surface textures and all kinds of technological innovations enter our homes through our kitchens. For this reason, we see innovations first in our kitchens. Marble patterns and surfaces, which started to be used two years ago, have become widespread this year and have entered the home concept. Large-scale table tops and console-top ceramic solutions also attracted attention this year. Concrete patterns and surfaces, which are becoming widespread in kitchens and are expected to enter home concepts until next year were also at the forefront. The Scandinavian influence is almost none and oak is used very sparingly. This was inevitably reflected in the accessories. Walnut and its shades were used in a very intense and beautiful way with natural woods in the accessories.

Design Week in Milan was felt not only in the furniture fair area, but in every corner of the city. It was also exciting to experience the structure of the I Saloni Milan Furniture Fair, designed by Massimiliano Fuksas, and its huge glass roof. A different surprise greeted visitors in each courtyard within the historical texture. Some of the Italian brands in particular did justice to the use of marble and leather typical of their country. While in Milan, one should not miss the Porta Nuova district, home to some of the city's most contemporary architecture. The most impressive building there was the Bosco Verticale towers with their vertical forest concept. The Fondazione Prada campus, located in the former industrial area south of Milan and built by the world-renowned Office for Metropolitan Architecture, hosted a permanent exhibition and several temporary exhibitions that explored contemporary Italian art in its political context. I think the architectural language, material choices and details of the buildings on the campus attract more attention than the exhibitions.
